So 2020 has been an absolute clusterf-k, a lot of bad things have happened that I won’t get into here, though some good things have also happened. For the purposes of this blog, I’d like to focus only on the positive. The most notable good thing is that I am now working from home everyday, so I no longer need to commute for nearly an hour every morning, and an hour in the afternoon. I’m totally in love with having more time!!!
So I wasn’t planning on racing again for a really really really long time. The girls are involved in so many sports that we rarely have a free weekend (like maybe 1 or two a year!) so there’s not a lot of time to train, and races generally interfere with their hockey and fast pitch commitments.
But then I got a DM on instagram from a local race:
The other night I was scrolling through either Pinterest, Facebook or Bloglovin, or someplace (I don’t really know where I saw it) but I came across a neat little Runbet challenge from Run, Eat, Repeat.
Hmmmmmm…. that sounds interesting!
I’ve really been struggling with motivation lately so I didn’t hesitate to place my $40 bet. There’s something so inspiring about having money in the game, isn’t there?

Hi, I’m a 40-something working mother with a running problem. I have three wonderful and VERY active daughters who are 13, 11 and 8. Because the girls play travel hockey and fast pitch they keep me VERY busy chauffeuring them to their sports. Coffee keeps me going until it's wine time. Running keeps me sane.
